Willie Mays is the greatest CF in MLB history.

No argument needed.

But happy Bday Jr.

Maybe you’re right.

Griffey 10 GG to Mays’ 12
Griffey 630 HRs to Mays’ 660
Griffey .284 BA to Mays’ .302

Mays is a legend.

Crazy, he was VERY likeable and then he went to the reds and everybody hated him b/c of his $$$$$ contract

Same thing happened to Alex Rodriguez. Was loved in Seattle, signed with the RAngers and then was hated.

No maybe about it.

Mays IS the best CF in MLB history to this point. Period. No one else is close.

Whoever you want to rank 2-whatever can be argued. Some say Mantle #2 some say DiMaggio #2 hell some say Ty Cobb #2. I personally would say either Griffey or Mantle is #2. But there is no question who #1 is.

What I respected about Griffey was he didn't resort to steroids like the rest of them did.. His stats mean alot more in history then alot of the others.. Class act !

Do you account for the different eras each played in as in the longevity of a starting pitcher etc.? Just thinking out loud.

No. That can never be accounted for.

Endless argument, right up your ally though.

Day 5 of personal attacks after nothing for months. It's cool.

No personal attacks towards you at all. Never will. Can we make it to day 6 please?

Personal attacks?

You are known here as "Mr. Argumentative"...Just saying an endless argument is right up your ally, because it is.

You sure like to dish it but cant take the push back that is for sure.

Enfuego - IMO, Ken Griffey Jr. is the greatest CF of all time.

Stock - IMO, Willie Mays is the the greatest CF of all time.

Logical conclusion - Two guys think differently about who the greatest CF of all time is. It's a forum, no big deal.

Stock's conclusion- You're "Mr. Argumentative" and my opinion that Willie Mays is the greatest CF of all time is factual.

Dish it but can't take it? I haven't said a cross word to you about anything in months Stock and you know it. I'm not dishing anything to you and you know it. I genuinely think you're a good guy and you see that as I refuse to say anything negatively towards you.

You know, when you were PMing me earlier this year, it sure was a lot different guy than the guy you're portraying here. I wonder why that is? Just curious.

Because back then I was tired of all the dumb ass back and forth about the stanfordsam/undersiege situation....You guys took his side as well as a certain mod...and it turned out WE were right about sam all along and everyone of you who supported his his act were wrong. I was ready to bury the hatchet. I also told you then via PM that I liked Mob and thought he was a good guy and you said you wanted to stop all the arguing as well and get this forum back to sharing info on sports betting.....

Then you start dumb ass threads taunting mob about going to CK tryout....You instigate...You agitate...You know what you are doing starting stupid threads like that....You get what you ask for.

1) I didn't know that stupid Sam guy. I had nothing to do with him or Steven Segal. That wasn't my deal.

2) So this latest roll you're on attacking me has to do with one single thread I started not even having anything to do with you? You're going to take up for your brother in arms and take that hill huh?

If that's the way it is, cool. I still have never said a negative word towards you and you know it.

Mays and Mantle easily the top two, clearly well ahead of Griffey. Cobb and Speaker most likely, depending on era adjustment. Oscar Charleston, too. Trout will pass him soon. About seventh all time seems right for someone who did so little after 30.

156 WAR for Mays, 84 for Griffey. OPS+ 156 to 136 (and 160 for Mays when looking at the same number of games). There is virtually no way any difference between the 90s compared to the 60s can account for that.
